About Us

Brian Buckley:

Graphic Designer, Guinness Drinker and Editor in Chief of Junkie Gamer.

Found under a head of cabbage in 1979, (so I’m told), I was far away from the evil influences of the Video Game world. But one day a magical song larked “2600 from Atari, under 50 bucks. 50 bucks? Wow!! Isn’t that nice”. To many, this was an annoying advert, but to me it was music to my ears. I soon graduated to the Sega Mega Drive, followed on by the PS1 and PS2 where many a day was passed playing either Final Fantasy or the Gran Turismo series’. But soon the discovery that Guinness really is good for you, lead me away from the delights of gaming. That is, until the Xbox 360 and PS3 were launched and my interest re-ignited.

With my love of gaming at an all time high, and my thirst for gaming news becoming a daily quest, I soon decided to launch Junkie Gamer, a site where I could roundup all the latest news and game trailers I could lay my hands on. I hope you enjoy it, as much as I love maintaining it.

Game On,
Brian

Iain Alexander:

Teacher, gamer, musician. Not always in that order…

I’ve been gaming since 1986 when my dad brought a hard key Spectrum 48k home. Having owned a range of consoles through the years I bought a Playstation when I started university in ’98, and spent countless nights playing ISS and Pro Evo games with mates. Since then I’ve stuck with the Playstation brand and now do all my gaming on a PS3 and PSP, while trying to fit in a teaching job in a secondary school. When neither of those are on the cards I’ll be sat at a piano or with a guitar trying to make up something that doesn’t already exist and doesn’t sound crap. Look out for my weekly PS3 updates and reviews on the main site – feedback is always appreciated!

Find me on PSN and Twitter as PoisonedMonkey, always happy to chat to people :)

David Stiff:

Accountant, Gamer and bargain hunter.

I first started my console love affair in the early 80’s when I played Space Invaders on my dads Atari 2600, but only when I got my Sega Master System in 1987 did I realise how much gaming would change my life. I have had a console from every generation being the Megadrive, N64, Playstation 2, PS3 and then the Xbox 360. As you can see I have not stuck with one brand as I liked certain games that were released on each console, such as ISS 64 and Diddy Kong Racing on the N64, Pro Evolution Soccer and Jak & Dexter on the PS2. Now I have both of the latest consoles.

Outside gaming I am a qualified accountant, which does take up a lot of my days, however if I am not gaming I like to read and go running and play football to stay in shape.

My Gamertag and PSN ID is stiffyuk, and you can also find me on twitter under my suede name Beatenagain. As Dina Carroll said, “Don’t be a stranger”.
